90% of a child's brain growth happens before they start Kindergarten.1
Those first five years of life help shape how a child's brain develops. During this time, over one million new neural connections are made every second, more than at any other time in life. It's no wonder that experiences early in life can have a lasting impact on a child's later learning, behavior, and health!
So how do we support our children during those crucial years? We talk, read, play, sing, laugh, dance, discover, jump, climb, and explore.
Play into Kindergarten Readiness guides you this crucial period, step-by-step, day-by-day, with activities that naturally build upon each other. Your little one will be ready to ROCK Kindergarten!

Through playful games and activities, your child will master all seven phonological awareness skills in Play into Kindergarten Readiness, giving your little one the strongest foundation for reading readiness.
Frequently Asked Questions
I am a certified teacher and reading specialist, and taught Kindergarten in the classroom for 10+ years. Currently, I am a homeschool teacher to my 4 children. I also support parents, caregivers, and fellow teachers in their journeys with little ones through my blog, ebooks, and digital courses. Through decades of teaching young children (including my own!), I have refined the best activities to build strong foundations in literacy and mathematics.
You will learn all about phonological skills in Play into Kindergarten Readiness! Phonological skills actually have nothing to do with the letters in the alphabet, but they are essential for building a strong foundation for reading. Phonological awareness focuses on auditory skills; hearing the relationship between words — the rhymes, the sounds, the syllables, etc.
Did you know that a child’s ability to rhyme in Kindergarten is a direct predictor of his or her reading success in grade one? It’s true! Rhyming is the first of seven phonological skills that your little one will master with Play into Kindergarten Readiness.
Generally, children are ready to begin Play into Kindergarten Readiness when they are two or three years old. A few signs to look for to know whether your child is ready: your child can focus and concentrate on an interesting activity for 5 minutes, your child is able to answer simple questions (e.g. "What colour do you like best?" or "Would you like to wear your striped t-shirt or your polka dot t-shirt today?"), and your child enjoys playing!
To move through Play into Kindergarten Readiness faster, you could complete two activities each Friday, or even two activities a day to complete the program in half the time.
