Turns out all 3 of my little ones are gift givers. And with a big birthday only 18 days away, the crafts are turning into birthday surprises.
While I cannot believe my baby is going to be 4, I can believe that we are counting down already. I have mentioned before that birthdays are big here. Loads of time spent planning, preparing, and celebrating our special little birthday child.
Sam has been making gifts for Benjamin daily. He likes to wrap them up and make them very special. Usually he wraps them in construction paper, or old cereal boxes. But I was flipping through an old book (from when I was a child) and found this super simple craft perfect for my little gift givers.
All you need is a cardboard tube, glue/tape, construction paper, and ribbon or string.
Rub glue all over the piece of paper and wrap it around the cardboard tube. We secured ours with tape, as waiting for glue to dry is not our strong suit.
Next, the boys snipped the paper that wrapped past the cardboard tube at each end to create a fringe.
We tied one end with ribbon, and then filled the tube with goodies.
Cards were rolled and put inside, as were these rainbow look bracelets Sam’s cousin taught him to make.
Then we simply tied the other fringe with ribbon.
Nice and easy, and beautiful too.
This book actually has lots of neat paper folding projects for kids. I did get it as a child, but I actually found it on Amazon (affiliate) if you are interested.
We made this cute dragon puppet from construction paper as well. Another fun craft from that book! I think we will be working our way through it.
Lots of ideas to keep use busy!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend, friends. Thank you so very much for reading.
