Welcome! I am Sarah, the Mama on the other side of the computer. I am happy you are visiting How Wee Learn because I hope that means you like it here. So do I.
I am a teacher by trade and taught in the classroom for many years. I am now homeschooling my own crew and sharing all of our adventures, crafts, and learning activities on this blog.
If you are new, here are a few things that are helpful for you to know:
We absolutely love country living and have been on our farm for eight years. We have two adorable babydoll sheep named Mabel and Poppy. Here is Poppy, right after her annual hair cut.
We also keep chickens … but not “chickens” … we have Judy, Chloe, Blackie, Pebbles, Henrietta, Henny Penny, Stacy, Baby Hen and Christopher. And we make them winter hats sometimes.
If you think it is funny that I introduced my chickens before I introduced my kids it’s just because you are new here.
My kids are named as well (heehee). Here are a few of them in an awkward ‘smile for the camera’ sort of way.
Madeline (who avoided the above photo shoot) is 19 and is the most thoughtful child I have ever met. She makes me look like an amazing Mama.
Sammy is 11 and is my little wild child. He makes me look at the world in a whole new way and helps me to get out of my comfort zone and truly live. He also makes me sleep really well at night.
Benjamin is 9 and is my free spirited child. He makes me look for a term other than wild child, since that title is already taken. He has such a love for the animals around here. He is our resident chicken whisperer and cat tamer. Funny enough, the wildest animal we have around here is a feisty huge cat named Felix. Ben is the only one that can handle that kitty!
Norah is our newest little sweetheart and has just had her 3rd birthday. If you could catch the sun and put it into a child, you would get little Norah.
My children are incredible people. I’m sure yours are too. I find being a Mama such an incredible blessing.
I am married to John Wayne. True story. He is an amazing person and puts up with our crazy like a champion. He is only a cowboy after work hours, by day he is a Psychologist. We give him lots of real-life work experience.
Whether you are here to get ideas for keeping your little ones busy, finding learning ideas, searching for a rhythm for your family, wondering about Quiet Bins, or needing some Mama support – I am glad you are here.
The best way to get in touch with me is to leave a comment on a post. I read those every night. You can also send me an email at Sarah@HowWeeLearn.com
Thanks for visiting – I appreciate you being here.
