Hide and seek has always been a favourite around here. Lately though, it’s been hide and seek tag. I must admit – not my personal favourite.
Especially with the boys getting older – it’s exhausting! They are very fast these little wild ones of mine.
When I saw this Laser Tag set I knew it would be an instant hit with my boys. AND I thought it might just mean a little less exhaustion for me. Hide and seek tag on a whole new level.
This Laser Tag set comes with 4 laser guns and 4 chest plates, which means it can be fun for the whole family! I sat out the first round so I could snap some pictures of my crew. But never you fear, I was right in there round two.
Though guess what? Not even the least bit less exhausting than hide and seek tag. I was running and leaping and doing squats — I promise you do NOT need a gym membership if you play this regularly with your little ones.
OH THE FUN!
The Laser guns are infrared and meet or exceed all safety standards. They have 4 different colour options, so you can be on teams. We played team blue: my little boys, against team green: my teenage daughter and hubby (though I subbed in).
At first we played the game just like tag, but then we took to our little forest and played it like hide and seek. The boys would hide and manoeuvre through the trees like little ninjas! Me and my hubby on the other hand …
When the laser hit the chest plate there was a gentle vibration so we could clearly tell we were hit. We had 9 lives each (which I really appreciated – I needed every single one every single game).
The boys loved teaming up on us and it was wonderful to watch them cooperate and work as a little team (a little crazy-ninja-like team).
The boys learned all about making strategies and working together. They also learned about being gracious winners (at first they needed a little support with this, but they got lots of practice – so ninja like! They kept winning and winning!)
One of my little guys strategies was to aim from behind, keeping his chest plate hidden. This worked for him because we were playing the version that only the chest plate could be a target. We could also flip a switch on the Laser gun though so that it would be a target too.
I like that there are so many options with this game, making it easy to adapt for all ages.
There are lights and ‘invisible modes’ as well, which means this game would be amazing to play when it is dark outside too.
This laser tag game is ideal for ages 8 and up. My 5 year old had a little bit of trouble aiming and hitting with his laser gun, but still had an incredible time. When I was going through the pictures to share some here with you he was absolutely beaming in each photo I had.
Beaming! It’s that level of fun.
This was another family game that was truly fun for the entire family! My teenager, school-ager, and 5 year old had a complete blast – though not quite as much as my husband.

I wanted to get my 7 grandchildren Nerf guns but when I went to buy them you had to be over 8 years old but all of my grandchildren are under 8 so this would be a great alternative with no danger to them.

Laser tag seems to have disappeared. I haven’t played it since I was a kid, and I bet there was a time when every city had a place to play. The digital age has made some of the greatest joys from my childhood become nonexistent for my kids. I can’t wait to introduce my kids to laser tag.
