The 2024 Great North American Eclipse is quickly approaching!! On April 8th, the moon will perfectly align between the Earth and the Sun, creating a total solar eclipse visible in certain areas of Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
To ensure that your little astronomer gets the most out of this rare event, I put together a Solar Eclipse Activity Bundle full of activities and resources designed to spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of this incredible event.

Solar Eclipse Activity Bundle
If you’re lucky enough to live within the path of totality for the upcoming solar eclipse, you’ll want to grab this bundle! And if you have no idea what that term means, not to worry, my friend—you’ll learn all about it in the bundle!
What’s Included
Let me give you a little overview of what’s included with the Solar Eclipse Activity Bundle:
You can begin by reading the included short story aloud to your children. This whimsical little story will teach your child a bit about what to expect with a Solar Eclipse, as well as some of the science behind it all.
After you have read the story together, you can dive into either the Big Kid learning portion or the Little Kid learning portion—or you can do both! The Little Kid portion is specifically designed with 2-6 year olds in mind, whereas the Big Kid portion is for children 6-12 years old. You will find that the two versions complement each other very nicely!
In both the Big Kid and the Little Kid versions, you will find:
- Hands-on Activities
- Fiction and Non-Fiction Book Suggestions
- Curated YouTube Videos
- A What’s Happening Section
In addition, the Little Kid version has a snack suggestion and a poem, and the Big Kid version has math and literacy extension activities.
To round out this bundle, I also included some bonus printables! These additional resources will help to deepen your child’s understanding of this miraculous event:
- A Solar Eclipse Model
- A Solar Eclipse Diagram
- Vocabulary Cards
Do as much or as little as you like.
Maybe you just want to learn how to make a pinhole viewer—great!
Maybe you want a resource to help explain what a solar eclipse is to your little one—perfect!
Or maybe you’re looking for some solar eclipse resources to mix into your homeschool—love it!

The Solar Eclipse Bundle is set up similarly to Summer Camp at Home. With each resource, you start by reading a short story and then enjoy a hands-on activity together related to the story. Both resources offer book suggestions, poems, snack ideas for the little ones, math enrichment questions for the big kids, and lots of extra printables to extend the fun and learning.
If you enjoy the Solar Eclipse Bundle, you’re going to love Summer Camp at Home! Whether you go with the Little Kid or Big Kid Edition—or both!—you’re going to love how easy it is to give your child a magical summer.
Thank you so much for reading, sweet friend!

I keep inputting my email address and clicking. Yes, I want the free printable, but it just keeps resending me the email asking if I want the free printable. It’s done that multiple times now. And I really want the free bundle for the kids. Please help!
