Who else remembers those rainy summer afternoons spent playing games indoors, or maybe it was a cozy Friday family game night? So often, those simple moments turn into beautiful, lasting memories. Inspired by those, I thought it would be fun to keep creating special memories (with a bit of learning mixed in, too, of course!). After a while, I had so many summer camp at home ideas that I decided to make a complete resource about them!
Summer Camp at Home is a six-week nature program that strikes the perfect balance between structure and whimsy. It offers you and your children a simple, nature-filled summer full of memorable experiences and activities.
Today, I want to share one of the fun games from the frog unit in Summer Camp at Home Big Kid Edition—a twist on the classic game Guess Who. Remember how much fun it was asking questions like, “Does your person wear a hat?” Well, it turns out that the game is also a great way to build skills like communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.
So let’s dive in and extend the learning with a fantastic game of Frog Guess Who!

Summer Camp at Home Idea
In Summer Camp at Home, each theme includes a story to read with your children and crafts and activities that accompany the story.
This particular activity ties into the story about a lovely little frog named Freddy. In it, we learn that Freddy would spend his winter hibernating in the mud at the bottom of his pond.
This sparked the question: Do all frogs hibernate?
To answer, let’s learn about a few different types of frogs and their habitats!
For this activity, all you need is the free printable Frog Guess Who cards linked above and a pair of scissors.
To get started, print and cut out the colorful frog cards.
The setup is simple: Each player receives a set of small frog cards—12 cards in total. Arrange these pretty cards in a 4×3 rectangle, face up, in front of each player.
As we set them up, we enjoyed naming each frog and reading a few fun facts about them. It was interesting to see the various colors, patterns, and sizes of frogs.
Next, each player randomly selects one big card, which will now be their frog for the other opponent to guess. So keep this card secret!
Players take turns asking yes or no questions to guess which frog is on their opponent’s big card.
For example, one might ask, “Is your frog green?” If the answer is yes, the player who asked the question will flip over all cards that are not green.
You and your child will continue taking turns asking each other questions until someone is left with only one small card face up. If the last small card facing up matches the opponent’s big card, that player wins!
My kiddos loved playing this game over and over; they even added an extra challenge and started asking yes or no questions about frog facts. “Does your frog hibernate?” We ended up learning a lot about all these different frogs!
I hope your children loved this fun summer activity. It’s a simple game to add to your family game night lineup, or maybe to pull out on a camping trip!
You can find this and so many more summer game and craft ideas in Summer Camp at Home.
There are two versions available—one for big kids and one for little kids. At the heart of each version are the same beautiful stories. They give you and your children a simple summer filled with nature and beautiful memories.
