Wikki Stix!
You have likely heard me mention these Wikki Stix before. I have used them for likely 10 years, or more, and was introduced to them when I was teaching in the Kindergarten classroom.
Wikki Stix remind me of playdough rolled into tiny ropes, except they never dry out and they are mess-free!

But just before the giveaway, I wanted to share with you a fun new way we have been using Wikki Stix in our home.
Little Norah is all about learning her letters right now. Every day she insists we do an activity to help her practice her letters and sounds.
Recently we used Wikki Stix to practice letters in a fun scavenger hunt that all of the children got in to. If you haven’t used Wikki Stix before, the cool thing is that they just STICK! No glue, no paste, no mess. They are made of yarn and a non-toxic food grade wax which is what gives them their “stickability”. So they are easy to press into place as well as easy to peel up to change and reposition. And, if any residue remains you just wipe with a dry paper towel. For the alphabet scavenger hunt, Wikki Stix are fun to use on tables, doors, mirrors, and windows.
I stick these things everywhere!
On to the scavenger hunt!
The boys and I began by shaping Norah’s name letters out of Wikki Stix. We then hid each letter all around our family room: behind plants, pressed on walls, peeking out from pillows, etc.
Norah then walked around to find her letters and placed them on a table. Once she found all of them she placed them in order and reconstructed any letters that had become misshapen.
Easy peasy, full of learning, and builds those fine motor skills, too! Perfection.
Wikki Stix are not only great for playing with in ways like this, but are also great for crafting. Last year I shared with you this winter lantern the kids and I made from Wikki Stix. The possibilities are truly endless!

This is such a fabulous teaching tool! As a teacher and parent, there are just so many ways these can be used. This really strengthens fine motor skills and promotes learning in such a fun way!

These look like something we could put in the car to use at restaurants while we wait for our food. We could also use to practice the ABC’s and numbers.
My students love to use wikki sticks to create different pictures and make letters on the ABC arc. The best thing is the sticks are reusable.

I am a retired primary teacher. Wiki stix was one of my favorite go to hands on learning resources I used. Love to give my grandchildren the opportunity to learn in the same fun creative way my students did.
This would be a fantastic gift for a little boy in my daughter’s grade 2 class. He has autism and LOVES pipe cleaners. He always had one in his hand! I think these wikki stix would be an absolutely wonderful toy for him to play with.

I would love to use these with my four year old students! I’ve used wiki sticks previously, but am excited to try some of these new (to me) ways!
I have used Wikki Sticks with my own children and they are grown adults and still remember using them! They are great in the classroom for fine motor. I just love them!
As an OT, I’ve used these as visual ais for reading and writing.,Used cinder block walls as textured paper to write on and made 3-D creations but I love the giant maze idea- I haven’t done that yet!
These are also amazing for travel!! My lap infant was entertained for a good long while by these on an airplane not two months ago. We would have lots of fun with these at our house!

We love wikkistix! My girls took them all away and they became Doll clothes so we definitely could use a new set!!
I love using Wikki Stix! I mostly used them to help my students stay within the lines while they’re writing. It’s a nice tactile prompt to remind them that they have to stay within the lines. Other times, they’ve used them to create shapes, letters and numbers 🙂
