A Few of My Favourite Things

December 1, 2019 by Sarah 161 Comments

I am so excited to partner with Oak Meadow to bring you this GIVEAWAY today. As well, all of these items are on SALE right now! The sale ends December 2nd and most of these items are 30% off!!

It is no secret that we are major fans of Oak Meadow around here. We have been gently using the Oak Meadow curriculum for the past 4 years now and continue to love it.

Some years we have followed it to a T, and other years we use it as the backbone to our day while allowing ourselves the freedom to explore as we wish (or have a relaxing day due to a teething baby). That is the beauty of homeschooling, after all. I love how the Oak Meadow curriculum offers us that freedom with the way their curriculum is written.

Given my love for this curriculum, it will be no surprise to you that I was ECSTATIC to see all of the new offerings in the Oak Meadow Shop. And given my love for YOU, it will be no surprise that I was ECSTATIC when I was asked to host a GIVEAWAY!

Oak Meadow is such a beautiful company inside and out. I adore promoting them. They have given me complete freedom (yet again!) to offer you my most favourite things from their shop.

You can imagine it was a looooong night selecting these goodies. And oh my goodness are they every goodies! I have chosen 3 resources, 1 craft item, and 1 adorable toy.

A few of my favourite things:

The Complete Book and CD Set of Rhymes, Songs, Poems, Fingerplays and Chants.

We all know that children learn when they are engaged in play and these songs and games engage those little ones in learning in the very best ways. With rhymes, sequencing, rhythm building and body moving fun, your little one (and you!) will be moving and playing and building those little brains all the while.

Poems and rhymes teach children so many things and are a fabulous way to build early literacy skills. But what poems to use? Oak Meadow has you covered with this fabulous resource.

The Nature Corner

When my boys were tiny we had a nature table in the corner of our family room. We changed it seasonally and it was such a beautiful way to invite the natural rhythm into our home. We would head out on nature walks and bring back little seasonal treasures to add to our table. I am not sure when this part of our life ended! When I saw this resource I was reminded of how beautiful it was to do this. We will definitely be starting this once more.

This resource is a great “beginners guide” to creating a nature table. It provides so many helpful ideas, as well as tips and tricks.

The All-New Woodworking for Kids

This book is one of my boy’s very favourite part of our Oak Meadow Curriculum. I mean, how could it not be? Building and creating with tools is so cool. And all of that measuring, instruction following, and problem solving is solid, real world Math and learning. This makes it one of my favourite parts of the curriculum as well.

This Woodworking Book is full of beginner projects that are fun to create (and manageable for a beginner woodworking Mama too!). There are lots of ideas that would work very well to create and sell, making this book a great jumping off point for your entrepreneurs as well.

Stockmar Beeswax Crayon Assortment in a Wooden Box

You know how crayons tend to get thrown all around, scattered, and broken? Well, no more my friends! We taught our little boys so much about respect and being responsible by purchasing this crayon set. My boys learned how to be gentle with their crayons as well as how to put them away in order. We treated them very special, making art time very special as well.

These beeswax crayons create such a beautiful mark on the page. The colours are vibrant and they feel so nice in your hand. Drawing with block crayons is a whole learning experience in itself! There are lots of youtube videos, including this one from Oak Meadow, sharing how to use them.

Math Gnomes

These little gnomes make the ideal toy for young children. Each of these little gnomes come with a collection of stories about him or her. For example, the math gnome “minus” has beautifully simple stories introducing the concept of subtraction.

These little gnomes are perfect characters for acting out those stories. Add a few little pebbles or gems and your little one can SEE math concepts right in front of them.

Can you understand my excitement over these awesome resources, friends?! I know you will love Oak Meadow just as much as I do.

And now, I bring you the GIVEAWAY!

This giveaway includes EVERYTHING listed above!! Yes, you read that all – this is my big Oprah moment.

To be entered to win this Oak Meadow Giveaway which includes The Complete Book of Rhymes, The Nature Corner, The All-New Woodworking for kids, Stockmar Beeswax Crayons, AND the adorable Math Gnomes please simply leave a comment below and tell me how old your little ones are!

Winner will be selected Tuesday December 3rd

Congratulations to our winner, Robyn!
