I have compiled the absolute best All About Me Themed books for preschoolers to share with you today. If there is one thing preschoolers love, it is an All About Me Theme!
In fact, All About Me is the very first theme we dive into in my preschool curriculum, Play into Kindergarten Readiness. This theme spans four weeks and consists of daily 20-minute activities that give our preschoolers the core foundational skills to grow on. The entire curriculum lasts for seven months.

All About Me Books for Preschoolers
Within Play into Kindergarten Readiness, I include some book suggestions to go along with each theme. Adding in some new books every month from the library, or purchasing (this post contains my Amazon Affiliate links), is a simple and wonderful way of making our homes a literacy-rich environment.
Below you will find the books I recommend to go along with my All About Me theme.
But first, I think you’ll love these Human Body Playdough Mats! One part of an All About Me theme is learning about the human body, and these playdough mats are perfect to go along with that learning. Grab your Free Human Body Playdough Mats right here:
Now let’s dive into the All About Me books!
Below are my six favorite books which touch on all different areas of an All About Me Theme. There are books about the human body, about what makes us unique, about self-esteem and self-confidence, and even books you can write in to create your own unique all-about-me journal!
The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin. This book is written with a rhythmic rhyme which expresses all the loving things that parents think of when they look at their children. A wonderful way for children to hear how special they are from a loved one!
Inside Your Outside by Tish Rabe. Take a ride through the human body! Visit the right and left sides of the brain, meet the Feletons from far off Fadin (when they stand in the sun you can see through their skin), scuba dive through the blood system, follow food and water through the digestive tract, and a whole lot more! This is a wonderful introduction to what is happening inside the human body.
My First Human Body Book by Patricia J. Wynne. This fascinating book is set up as a coloring book, allowing children to color the various parts of the body they are learning about. This book dives into details such as how a voicebox works and how a tongue tastes! Perfect for learning in the All About Me Theme.
I Like Myself! by Karen Beaumont. High on energy and imagination, this ode to self-esteem encourages kids to appreciate everything about themselves—inside and out. This book is silly and whimsical, while tackling some big topics and encouraging children to embrace what makes them unique.
All By Myself (Little Critter) by Mercer Mayer. This book is a wonderful, silly, heartwarming tale of Little Critter wanting to do everything himself. It is a perfect story to gently encourage independence in our growing preschoolers, while offering the opportunity to discuss how everyone needs help sometimes!
My Book About Me by Dr. Seuss. This interactive book is full of questions for children to answer – by writing in the book! Children will write down how many freckles they have, how tall they are, and so much more as they follow along with this fun and magical story. This is a great way to really solidify an All About Me Theme!
There you have them! My six favorite All About Me Books.
These books are found in month one of the Play into Kindergarten Readiness Preschool Curriculum. Be sure to check out everything else that awaits you in there, including your 20 minutes of play-a-day daily guide. It has been made as easy as can be to give your preschooler a rock-solid foundation:
