Happy Friday! This week has gone by in the blink of an eye. It was very good, lots of fun and learning and time out and about with friends – just very fast. I hope you had a lovely week as well.
I wanted to share an idea with you that has been a humongous hit with my boys. We took one of the boys favourite Quiet Bins and made it BIG.
Really big.
We emptied out our sensory table (which had held coloured rice for a long while, but recently water) and filled it with loads of tinkering doodads and creating pieces. An inventors dream!
It holds basic supplies – cardboard, paper, glue, tape, paper clips, cardboard tubes, markers, crayons, stickers, elastics, and things like that. I spiced it up a bit with a trip to the Dollarstore adding in a few special intriguing items: different clips, small boxes, retractable name tag holders, magnets, really big and really small popsicle sticks, and things like that.
Throughout the week I have also been tossing in various things I find along the way. A spring, some little wheels off of a broken toy, lids, small boxes, anything that I thought might spark their interest.
And the things that have been created! The boys have made incredible airplanes, crowns, animal ‘cages’, superhero badges, and so much more. This inventor’s bin has seen hours of play!
I wish you and yours a wonderful weekend friends. Thank you so much for reading!
