It is the very last day in my series of printable worksheets for kindergarten and preschool with these Color-by-Letter Coloring Pages! Today, I have the final 9 FREE printable coloring sheets for you.
We now have coloring pages by letters for the entire alphabet in lowercase, uppercase, and word family versions!
These coloring pages go along perfectly with How Wee Read! If youβre ready to teach your child to read with everything laid out for you step-by-step, you are going to love How Wee Read.
How Wee Read is my learn-to-read resource. It covers it all, from rhyming to reading in 60 sequential, simple, and playful lessons:
- Step One: Phonological Awareness (7 lessons)
- Step Two: Letters, Sounds, and Blending (12 lessons)
- Step Three: Special Rules (5 lessons)
- Step Four: Familiar Readers (36 lessons)
In Step Two, where we cover letters, sounds, and blending, the letters are introduced in a specific order:
- s, a, t, i, p, n
- c, k, e, h, r
- m, d, g, o
- l, f, b, q, u
- j, z, w
- v, y, x
This is the same order that your coloring pages follow, and you can grab all six sets at the end of this post!
Coloring Pages Letter Group 6: v, y, x
These are the color-by-letter coloring pages for the 6th set of letters: v, y, x
Within this color-by-letter bundle, you will find coloring pages for lowercase letters:
(printable available at bottom of post; these are just pictures to show you what is in your free bundle!)
You will find an adorable vulture for the letter v (well, I’m not sure adorable is the correct descriptor!), yak for the letter y, and x-ray fish for the letter x- all cute as can be and filled with the lowercase letters v, y, x
Your child can color by letter through these coloring pages for as many as he needs before he is able to recognize all of those lowercase letters.
As you go through these coloring pages, point to each letter with your child and say both the letter name and the sounds. Think of words together that start with all of the sounds. Play and have fun! And make sure you go nice and slow.
Once your little one can recognize the lowercase letters, you are set to print off the uppercase color by letter free worksheets for kindergarten:
Perhaps your child colored the yak and x-ray alphabet coloring pages and now really understands and recognizes the lowercase letters for y, v, x. You may now wish to print off the next coloring page in the capital version: Y, V, X
Play and have fun with this version as well! Make connections to the previous coloring pages to see if your child can patch the uppercase and lowercase letters.
Be sure to continue with the sounds and go nice and slow.
Once the uppercase letters are also fully understood, you can print out the next coloring page in the “word family” format.
Since your child now knows each sound you are set to help him blend those sounds together and read those word families!
Your little one will be reading! How exciting is that!!! There is, of course, much more information and support in How Wee Read. I invite you to learn more about the program and view a sample right here: https://shop.howweelearn.com/products/how-wee-read
