Easy Fall Playdough Recipes

August 17, 2022 by Sarah 4 Comments

With the cooler fall weather approaching, it is time to start preparing for that long period of hibernation. Just me? One staple, aside from hot chocolate and 40 blankets, is a good playdough recipe that is nice and easy. And one that smells of all things Fall? Perfection.

I have found a few lovely, easy fall playdough recipes to share with you today, and we also have some beautiful {and FREE} Fall Playdough Mats to share with you as well!

So grab your 40 blankets, your cup of hot chocolate, and get yourself cozied in and ready to learn how to make some playdough for your little ones.

Let’s start things off by getting you your Free Fall Playdough Mats. Pop these in some page protectors, or just cover them with clear tape, and you are set to play all Autumn long! Grab yours here:

Now onto the no-cook playdough. The first recipe is none other than my own. I do have the self-proclaimed-but-truly-it-is the BEST no-cook playdough recipe on the internet. It came from my own Mama and was refined month after month as I taught Kindergarten for years.

To make this easy, no-cook playdough recipe perfect for Fall, you just need to add in one tablespoon of cinnamon!

You can find my original recipe right here: No-cook Playdough Recipe

We always dive into playdough during the Fall around here. One of my boy’s favourite things to do when they were younger was making playdough apple pie. This idea is full of imagination and creativity. Mostly it is full of imagination because I have never, ever baked a REAL apple pie in my life, so …

I also wanted to share with you a few more Fall Playdough recipes, just in case you want to mix things up.

Pumpkin Playdough Recipe, by Mommy Baby Play. This recipe is a no-cook playdough recipe that uses pumpkin puree. I can smell it through the computer screen! I love how playdough can engage so many senses for children.

Apple Cinnamon Playdough Recipe, by Natural Beach Living. Another no-cook playdough recipe perfect for Autumn! This is another one that I can almost smell from here. I mean, with all of these yummy scents in our homes, it is no wonder we eat a touch more in the Fall, right? Need to bulk up a bit for winter, I always say.

Pumpkin Pie Playdough Recipe, by The Farmwife Crafts. Now I am not actually a fan of pie. Give me a big slice of chocolate cake any day, but pie? Not my thing. However, I will always make an exception for pumpkin pie. There is just something about that spicy sweet filling that I love! Perhaps it is more to do with the aforementioned bulking up for winter. Either way, this pumpkin pie playdough recipe sounds right up my alley.

Apple Scented Playdough Recipe, by Sunshine Whispers. Finally, just to keep things nice and healthy, I thought I would share a sweet apple playdough recipe! This one is ideal for making little apples to pop on some apple trees, or to practice counting how many apples are on top!

And there you have it, my friend! The best no-cook, fall playdough recipes that are nice and easy for you to enjoy this Autumn. The hardest decision will be which one to make first … the pumpkin pie, or maybe the apple cinnamon …

And don’t forget to grab your Free Printable Fall Playdough Mats before you set off to whip up your first batch of the season! You can grab them right here:

Thank you for sharing these! I’ll make a couple at a time. I’ve got 4 small grandbabies. And they will love to choose or most likely combined them together! Lol. That’s gonna be an interesting scent! I’ll share when we do these!
