Gorgeous Fall Sensory Bins for Preschoolers

July 6, 2022 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Sensory play doesn’t need to be complicated. Going for a walk outside and feeling the grass with little hands and bare feet, stopping to smell the flowers, crunching up those Fall leaves, listening to the birds as they fly south, all of these things are awesome sensory activities for preschoolers to enjoy in Fall!

In addition to everyday sensory experiences, we like to have some sensory bins on hand as well. These sensory bins are perfect for preschoolers to enjoy this Fall, and also perfect to help children with calming down, quieting down, and transitioning, too.

Just before I dive into these Fall sensory bins for preschoolers, be sure to grab my FREE Printable Sensory Bins 101 Guide for all you need to know and the easiest sensory bins of all, right here:

Fall Sensory Bins for Preschoolers

These Fall sensory bins for preschoolers all incorporate natural elements, making them ideal to calm and nurture little ones this Autumn.

Natural Fall Sensory Bin – gather all of those Fall treasures outside and pop them in a sensory bin to enjoy inside. Items like rough sticks, smooth stones, and crunchy fall leaves are perfect.

a simple sensory bin

A Simple Nature Sensory Bin – Grab some pinecones, walnut shells, and oodles of rice for this calming sensory bin. The sound of the rice falling through the pine cones is so relaxing and calming. You can even add in some clementine peels or cinnamon sticks for a calming scent.

Fall on the Farm Sensory Bin, Gift of Curiosity – This simple sensory bin for preschoolers is perfect for the Fall! Grab a big bag of popcorn kernels and some farm animals and you are set for a pretend play, sensory rich experience.

Sunflower Seeds Sensory Bin, Life Over Cs – This sensory bin is perfect for Fall as it uses sunflower seeds! As you might know, sunflowers blossom in August, dropping their seeds in September and October, making them an ideal material to use in your Autumn sensory bins.

Fall Soup, And Next Comes L – Let’s not forget the simplest sensory bin filler of all – water! Water is an excellent sensory experience for little ones. You can vary this immensely by simply changing the temperature of the water. Here is some Fall sensory soup!

Halloween Sensory Bins for Fall

Fall is also the time for Halloween! These sensory bins for preschoolers are perfect to enjoy for Halloween.

Halloween Sensory Bin – Fall is also the time for Halloween, and holidays such as this are ideal for sensory bins. This is a very exciting holiday and when little ones are excited, some calming sensory play is the perfect thing to help calm and regulate those excited little bodies!

Halloween Sensory Play

Halloween Sticky Tree Sensory Bin – This Halloween sensory bin is perfect for preschoolers to explore this Fall. It adds in the elements of a sticky surface for beans, rice, or Fall leaves to be stuck upon.

Bat Sensory Bin, Mrs. Plemons Kindergarten – colour some noodles to make this awesome sensory bin! And colouring those noodles is way easier than you think. Simply pop noodles in a ziploc bag, add a squirt of acrylic paint, squish it around and pour it onto some newspaper to dry. Voila!

Spider Web Halloween Sensory Bin, Happy Toddler Playtime – this blog post actually has a few different Halloween Sensory Bin ideas. This spider web one is my favourite though! Grab a pack of this pretend spider webbing at your local dollarsotre and let the sensory play roll!

There you have them! Some fun, simple, and sensory rich Fall sensory bins for preschoolers. I hope you have found one that is perfect for you and yours.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I am here to help!
