Without further ado, here are our 12 favorite, spectacular…
Minute to Win It Games for Families!
Apple Towers: For this game, try to stack three apples (or adults can try up to five!). It is a good idea to have some extra apples available, as some stack better than others.
Cookie Face: Starting on the forehead, move that cookie down to your eye, to your cheek, and finally, use that tongue to pull it into your mouth! Little ones can use one finger to help guide that cookie to their mouth.
Tilty Cup: This one can be played with 5 cups for adults. Start with all of the cups stacked. Bounce one ball and catch it in the top cup – easy peasy, right? NOW, put the cup from the bottom to the top, balancing on top of the ball in the previously top cup. Now it wobbles a little and is trickier. Keep going! Remember, you only have 60 seconds!
Marble Spin: This can be done on the ground or on a table. Put a marble down and spin the mouth of a cup around and around to get it rolling inside the cup. Lift it up and keep that marble spinning so it stays inside the cup. Move it to a different table or a predetermined new location on the floor. Adults can have to walk from place to place, and children can do this activity sitting.
Plate (or Frisbee) Slide: One person sits on the ground, and 5 paper plates (or frisbees) are placed evenly around them in a circle. In front of each paper plate, about 2-3 feet away (further for adults), place an empty paper cup. Slide the frisbee to knock over the cups. If a cup is missed, the plate can be brought back to the original place and tried again.
Office Tennis: This fun activity is sure to become a staple in your household! Be sure to stock up on clipboards—the more people that play, the more fun it is!
Don’t Forget to Brush: This one is well worth the dental floss! Adults can try to get the toothbrush into a cup on the floor if looking for an added challenge.
Cup Drop: I know, I know—this one sounds super simple. But it’s not! Getting those cups to bounce to their proper upright positions is definitely a tricky Minute to Win It game for kids.
Key Flip: Using shot glasses for this Minute to Win It game works best for kids. This one might become the next bottle flip game!
Go Fish: Go head-to-head for this one and see who can “catch” the most fish! Put some goldfish crackers in a bowl in front of each person, and another empty bowl next to it. Using straws for suction, each person has to try to lift and transfer fishy crackers to the empty bow. How many can you get in 60 seconds?!
Keep it Up: Working with a partner to keep a balloon in the air is a classic, but can you keep THREE balloons in the air?!
Junk in the Trunk: I saved the funniest game for last. This one is hilarious! Use an empty Kleenex box filled with a few golf balls. Tape it around your waist with the Kleenex box just above your bum. Shake and jump to get those golf balls ALL out in 60 seconds!
I promise that these games are bound to have your family laughing together. The best thing about them is that they are challenges you can all encourage each other with. There is no them-against-us or competition at all. It is simply fun!
